The animals that ticks bite in the U.S. South can impact Lyme disease spread

The paucity of #LymeDisease cases in the southern US may be due to what black-legged ticks bite.

Ticks in the N.E. commonly bite white-footed mice, but in the South they are more likely to bite skinks, which are poor transmitters of the bacteria.
