Researchers take a closer look at the genomes of microbial communities in the human mouth

Researchers discovered large variability in #microbiota living in certain areas of the mouth & surprising amount of site-specific microbes.

For instance, microbes found on the tongue are very different from microbes on the plaque on teeth.

"Your tongue microbes are more similar to those living on someone else's tongue than they are to those living in your throat or on your gums!"
